Default cranberry-orange relish

1 large box red raspberry jello
1 or 2 sticks celery (to suit you)
2 large apples (any will do)
1 can mandarin oranges (small can if you like a little orange, large if you prefer lots)
1 regular size can whole berry cranberry sauce
1/2 cup chopped pecans (may use more if you like lots of nuts)

prepare jello acording to pkg. directions, but only use 1-1/2 cups boiling water and disolve very well. next add 1/2 cup crushed ice and stir to melt completely. put in fridge. working quickly, chop celery and pecans if not already chopped. drain and chop the oranges and add them to celery and nuts. place in fridge. chop apples last. they will brown if chopped too soon. as soon as jello begins to thicken, add can of whole berry cranberry sauce, the fruit, celery and nuts, and last, the chopped apples. I like them peeled, but it isn't nessessary. jello must not be too runny when you add the mixture or the stuff will float to the top. but it can't be too firm, either, or it will not mix. most times I only use one stick of celery because I don't like so much. this is an easy recipe to play with and adjust the amounts to suit your own taste. ************************************************** **

I typed this exactly as my Mom dictated it! ~~~Bunny

Thanks Bunny. We usually don't have cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving, but I think
I'm going to try this one...minus the nuts.

Maybe I should sneek a little vodka in it to calm my huge family a bit for our Thanksgiving dinner LOL!
