Default True Blood on HBO

Is anyone else excited to see this new series coming out? I can't wait! Here is some information on the series.

Alan Ball, creator of Six Feet Under, returns to HBO with a new series based on the novel series Southern Vampire by Charlaine Harris. The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic barmaid who finds comfort in the company of vampires since they have no brainwave activity for her to read. She and her brother Jason were raised by her grandmother after losing their parents in a flood and she tries to keep her telepathic ability a secret. Thanks largely in part to the creation of a Japanese-made synthetic blood called True Blood (where the series takes it name) vampires have made their existence known to the world. Sookie works at the bar 'Merlotte's' which is owned and operated by her boss Sam Merlotte who has a secret of his own.

I just got done watching the premier of True Blood. I loved it! It's true to the books. The only thing is, I'm not sure I like the actress Anna Paquin, that plays Sookie. I'll have to get use to her. I loved the girl that played Tara tho and the guy that plays Bill! Great actors.

Anyone else watch it?

Yes I know, I really must go to the Library. I told them I would start reading P&P since I loved the movie so much.

If you want a dramatic change of pace, try reading these books afterwards!

So I watched the second epi. I got to admit it was way better then the first. I'm still not warming up to Anna Paquin playing Sookie, but over all I think Alan Ball is doing one hell of a job. It is staying very true to the first book.

For those interested.. Spoilers for those that haven't read the books!

Kim I have been watching and I do like the show. I never did read the books tho. I have always been interested in shows that center around vampires, must be from my Dark Shadow days. - LOL! I was a kid than and totally loved that show! I also watched Moonlight on CBS last year and was very disappointed that it was not being picked up again this season. I loved the guy that played the vampire (Mick St. John) - he was yummy! He played a detective and it was also a bit of a love story. He solved a different crime every week and his personal life was a secondary ongoing sl. I loved it but obviously not enough people did. Did you ever see it? As far as True Blood goes, it is totally different than Moonlight and a lot darker (partly due I guess since it is on cable television) but I am enjoying it and plan to continue watching. For those of you who have not seen it, try to catch up and give it a chance you may really like it.
