Re: True Blood on HBO
Hey Penny glad to see you here!
Actually I did watch Moonlight and loved it. I also watched Blood Ties on Lifetime. It was canceled the season before Moonlight was.
I also watched Dark Shadows back in the day. Nothing quite like Barnabas Collins.
If you enjoy reading, I highly recommend reading these books. They are very laugh out loud funny. I have a feeling that the show will keep getting better as it progresses.
My husband really enjoys watching it to. He made the comment the other day that he was going to start reading the first book. Of course that was after he made me give him a play by play of every character.
My hope is that people give it a chance. I would like to see another paranormal show be picked up for several seasons like Buffy & Angel did.

Re: True Blood on HBO
Thanks Kim for the list of the books - I do enjoy reading and perhaps I'll check them out!
When I was a kid I saw Jonathan Fried the actor who played Barnabes Collins on the Long Island Railroad, I thought I was going to die! I got his autograph and would you believe till this day I still have it - LOL!
Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing another show on Sunday, from the previews it really looks good!

NP Penny! Glad to help!
I don't blame you I would have kept it too. Did you watch the remake of Dark Shadows in 1991? I wasn't able to watch the original Dark Shadows when it came out because I was to young, but I watched all the old episodes later on. I watched the remake of it too. And while it wasn't near as good as the classic, I hated it when it went off the air.

A lot of folks thought the remake did the original a disservice, but for me personally, I thought of them as 2 completely different shows, so I liked them both as stand alones.

Re: True Blood on HBO
Thanks Kim for posting where I can watch the show. I don't have HBO and I was heartbroken over having to wait till it came out on DVD. I need my vampire fix. Buffy was my all time favorite.
I'm going to check out the books too. I just finished the Twighlight series and I loved them. Gave it to my mom who is in her 60's and my daughter who is 15. Both were equally obsessed.

NP Jordan! Glad I could help! Come back and let us know what you think after you have watched them. BTW they show very explicit scenes, so you may not want to watch them while the kiddo is around.
