Season five of Lost is only planning on introducing us to three new characters and thanks to some Lost spoilers by the New York Post, we have the info on one of them.
British actress Zuleikha Robinson will be playing Ilana, a dangerous European femme fatale who will be at the center of some of the show's cliffhangers. According to the beautiful actress, "When you meet Ilana, you're not really sure what side she's on - whether she's good or bad."
Robinson goes on to explain, "She's on a mission of sorts, which the audience will discover by around the 10th episode. She's a character who uses her sexuality to get what she wants. She knows how to use that power."
Though Robinson wouldn't reveal anything more about her role, she did reveal she won't appear until next month and will be in eight episodes.

It looks like Ausiello Files got wind of a new casting call out for Lost. According to his Lost insider, the team is looking very quietly for an actor to play a "younger Phillip Seymour Hoffman-type" for a small episode arc this season and an even bigger on next season.
As EW's resident Lost exprter, Doc Jensen puts it, "My guess is they want the Phillip Seymour Hoffman from Synecdoche, New York, because thematically, that trippy movie is very simpatico with Lost. I'm thinking he's some kind of Dharma mastermind, or maybe Jacob -- the true man behind the curtain directing the crazy stage play that is Lost."
Oh and as a bonus spoiler, it looks like Sawyer and a female cast member that is not Kate will be making out this season. Go Sawyer!

Thanks Pip! I watched last night, but will watch again before next week's show. Lots happening and the written synopsis helped!

Couple thoughts as I will absolutely have to watch the premiere again-
1) Daniel Faraday's mother is Ms. Hawking, the woman at the end last night with Ben and the woman who appeared in Desmond's flashback in season 3
2) this is not mine- Miles is the baby in the crib at the start of the premiere. He is the son of Pierre Chang aka Marvin Candle aka Edgar Halliwax..... the guy who does the Dharma videos.

Thanks, I was confused about the baby.....I'm so glad I watched the recap hour, I had forgotten some things. I thought it was very good.

loved the recap hour it helped with alot I forgot at the end of last season...thought it was a good premiere and look forward to seeing how they all get back....and is Ben being bad or good I am so unsure about him sometimes...

The producers have said that the season will be split into three acts; episodes 1-8 are the introduction- episode 9 is called "Namaste" which is the Dharma greeting which should be when everybody gets back to the island; 10 is called "He's our you" - I wonder who "He" is? I would say that the "You" is Jack.
Act 2 is episodes 8-13 and Act 3 will be 14 thru 17- I wonder what the big cliffhanger at the end of this season will be?
We still have 15 episodes to go and so many answers to receive!!!!
