Default Mad Men on AMC

Anyone watch this show about an advertising agency in NYC during the 60's? Don Draper is dreamy. The second season just started. I recommend if you like vintage 60's served with a bottle of vodka from your desk drawer.

I just watched this show for the first time last night and I totally loved it! I have tons of questions tho...

Did Don have an affair with whomever his wife is accusing him of sleeping with? As a new watcher it seemed like he was telling the truth when he said he didnt, but when I just read a summary of the show it said he has had several affairs. Whats the deal?

Also, why didnt Harry give the pretty red headed woman the job [the script reader]? Why did he give it to some young guy who has no idea what he's doing?

Don has been sleeping with Bobbie. Bobbie is the wife/manager of comic Jimmie Barrett, who was hired to be in a potato chip commercial that Don's agency was producing. Don's also slept with numerous other women. Don Draper has a mysterious past - in fact his name is not really Don Draper.
As for Joan not getting the job as script reader, I think the men are intimidated by her. She's a smart cookie and knows where the skeletons in the closet are hidden. I don't think they want her to have any real power - male chauvinists.
Try going to the Mad Men website. It has the first and second season episode synopsis. It's a good way to familiarize yourself with the characters and storyline.
If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to fill you in.
