SOW: Crazy Rumors of the Week
The big GH hospital crisis will take the lives of nurses Nadine and Leyla.
SOW: Countdown To Catastrophe!
GH is hurtling toward a terrible disaster that grows closer with each tick of the clock this week.
It started on Jan. 15 when Patrick ordered Monica, Matt, Elizabeth and Epiphany to halt surgery on a mysterious patient. From then on, over the course of 9 episodes, viewers are traveling back in time to find out exactly what brought the hospital to that point.
The show is keeping a tight lid on things, so much so that the actors are only speaking of it in the vaguest terms. LW says that they told her she's not allowed to talk about it. Mark Pinter says there's an incident that takes place, that's pretty interesting. It's pretty graphic and bizarre.
Throughout the month of February, everyone who sets foot in GH will be affected, as a major disaster is unleashed and makes its way throughout PC.
JFP says they're excited to kick the new year off with an exciting and captivating story that will engage the audience with all of their main characters.
While the crisis is going on, we'll also get to know NL's new character, Rebecca. JFP is thrilled she's back and Rebecca will certainly turn heads with the town's residents.
Hmmm, could she be referring to one prince of a guy?
A Closer Look: Robin
With Robin continuing to spiral into the depths of postpartum depression this week as tension builds at the hospital, Kimberly McCullough shares Robin's secret shame.
SOW notes that the audience has seen Robin's pain deepen as she suffers from PPD with Emma.
KMc says that Robin's dealing with Emma crying every day. Robin doesn't want to pick her up because she thinks that she'll just cry more. She's not able to console her child.
SOW says and here comes Nik, who appears to be looking for consolation himself.
KMc says that Nik pretends to stop by to check out her new house, but he's really upset about Emily. She's on his mind because it's her birthday. Nik talks a bit about how hard it was for Robin when Stone died. They also talk about Nadine and how Nik is trying to make it work with her, but he still thinks about Emily a lot.
SOW asks what Robin can say to him?
KMc says that Robin talks about how Jason was sort of a transitional relationship for her, suggesting that maybe that's what Nadine is for him. It's just friends comforting each other.
SOW says Robin probably doesn't get much comfort when Carly stops by to invite her to the benefit for Michael.
KMc says Robin is having issues with the care of Emma and also knows Carly suffered PPD with Michael, which she's already spoken with Jason about. So Robin is maybe trying to hide what's going on with her. She doesn't like Carly, so having Carly in her home isn't that pleasant to start with. They get into it a little bit.
SOW asks even though Robin needs to reach out, Carly is not an option because Robin doesn't like her?
KMc says Robin doesn't just not like her, she hates Carly. Robin wouldn't tell her anything about her life, she doesn't trust her.
SOW asks if she can talk about her portrayal of PPD.
KMc says she didn't really have to do a lot of research because she has three friends who've had it already. Most of her friends have kid, so she's had to see them go through all sorts of things. She understands the symptoms and being confused and upset.
SOW asks what the toughest part of it is?
KMc says she thinks the hardest part for women with PPD is feeling like they can't talk about it because as a woman, they're expected to be good at mothering and expected to be happy. So when they aren't, they feel ashamed. That's what's going on with Robin.
SOW says the depression isn't just directly related to Emma, though, right?
KMc says yeah, PPD is a lot of different things. You just don't feel good about yourself. It's not unusual for women to not want to have sex right away after having a kid, but in Robin's case, she just doesn't feel like she's attractive.
SOW asks whether she feels she can talk to a professional like Lainey?
KMc says that if she were to talk to Lainey that would mean she was admitting something is wrong with her.
SOW asks if PPD is affecting her professional life? Is she delaying going back to the hospital?
KMc says she doesn't think so. Robin was going to take maternity leave, regardless. So it's probably the opposite. She wants to go back to work, but she doesn't want to look like she doesn't want to take care of her kid.
SOW asks if Robin feels like Patrick is distracted or not paying enough attention to her?
KMc says no, she feels the opposite. She feels like Patrick is hovering and paying too much attention to her. He's watching everything she does.
SOW asks if Robin knows about the looming crisis at the hospital.
KMc says Robin doesn't really know what is going on at the hospital, because she's home with the baby.
SOW asks if Patrick is trying to juggle a crisis at the hospital as well as trouble at home?
KMc says that Patrick comes home one time [this week] to check on Robin. Then, when he goes back, that's when the big crisis happens, and so he's stuck at the hospital after that.
SOW says so Robin is on her own?
KMc says yeah.
SOW: Nikolas Gets Nostalgic on Emily's Birthday
TC says Nik admits to anyone who'll listen that he's still in love with Emily. He's always been open about that and never strayed from it.
As Nik marks her birthday fans will be treated to flashbacks of his relationship with her.
TC says we're going to start to see a lot of old flashbacks of the time they spent together over the years. They're all going to be old ones from since they first met - a lot of them.
Nik has a heart-to-heart with Robin when he visits her. TC says it's a mutual conversation about Robin not being as excited about having a baby as she thought she would. In the scene Nik reveals that Emily's birthday is coming up and he's trying to gather the courage up to go to her grave.
Part of what is holding him back is his confusion over Nadine. TC says Nik isn't in love with Nadine. His issue is that he wants to be, but he's not. He genuinely likes her and has feelings for her. He likes her just the way she is. He's just not ready for a new relationship.
TC says Nik isn't waiting for Emily to rise from the grave or anything. He's not delusional, he knows she's dead and not coming back. But he's been very open about Emily being the love of his life and if by some miracle she were to come back, he would graciously leave Nadine.
Nik visits Monica on Emily's birthday where they go through a photo album and reminisce about how great she was. They have a nice, little emotional, conversation about what Emily meant to both of them.
There won't be much time to cry though, when a catastrophe hits GH. TC says that Nik is at the hospital - pretty much everyone in the cast is going to be there. There's... something going on in the hospital and he's not sure exactly what it is, but everything's being closed off and quarantined!"
Perhaps that might lead him to running into the new girl in town, Rebecca, who happens to be applying for a job at the hospital?
