I haven't been working much on my SB fics, so I thought I'd try a Days one. I don't have any plots in mind yet, but most of it will take place at night, and I'm not going to tell you who the characters are. With no editing, it ought to be a fun ride, as I'm going to write the whole thing as I post it.

Part one:

He sat in the darkened room, watching the flashes of lightning in the night sky. He never understood why it was always storming when he launched his master plans, and he didn't care for the way his enemies took it as a warning. They always knew something was about to happen, and though the Salem Police were as efficient as a one-legged man on a unicycle, his plans were always foiled at the last minute.

But this time would be different. This time, he had an ally.

Meanwhile, across town, the sun was shining and people were hard at work in the hospital cafeteria. The coffee sat untouched on the table as they pretended not to be flirting with each other.

"I don't think you should be my doctor anymore."

"Why? Because I care too much?"

"That's not really the reason, but I'll go with it."

He smiled, and offered to buy her dinner at a secluded restaurant as a sign of friendship. She accepted the offer with slight hesitation. Neither of them noticed the woman in the corner, who watched them with a seething gaze over her newspaper.

She watched them leave together, and slowly set down the paper. Her glare dissolved into a smile. He'd soon realize what a mistake he'd made when he left her. He would come back to her. If he survived....
