Well, the insanity continues. I now know why it took forever to bake the cake. My oven is shot. It won't even heat up beyond warm anymore. I'm forced to use the toaster oven to make the scalloped corn. I don't use it often enough to be familiar with cooking time variations, so this ought to be interesting.
We've given up on the brisket. It's been on the smoker all day and is still only at 156 degrees. Backup plan is pizza. I wanted to make breadsticks, but the toaster oven isn't big enough to handle that. So I have some breadstick dough in the fridge that I'll have to use sometime. Or maybe I could freeze it?
Anyway, the party as moved back two hours, so in half an hour, people will be here to eat the strangest variety of foods ever. But we do have cake.
